Hello,

I have a 97 cavalier 2.2L and when ever I take off it will cut out. Almost dies and them comes back and keeps going. It gets worse the more throttle I give it. Any ideas on what this could be? I used some fuel injector cleaner. But could it be a filter or spark plugs? Or more?

Any check engine light? You could have a throttle position sensor that's getting poor contact, or the ignitionsystem [coil(s)] may be breaking down.
Injector cleaner? The kind you put into the tank? That is more effective for cleaning out wallets than for cleaning injectors. Filter? Plugs? When was either recently replaced?
Before you pay someone to diag the car, you should make sure these are not the problem, you know?
The plugs, if faulty, would likely produce a noticeable skip/misfire. A partially congested filter could result in the symtpoms you've described, but it would likely be more consistent.

The Check engine light just came on today. The Fan was running in the backround for a while sometimes when I shut the car off too. But the Fuel Filter and Plugs I don't think were ever replaced to my knowledge it has 60 000 miles on it. But the car does skip and misfire and it is VERY noticeable ecspecially with more throttle, yet at higher speeds its fine, like say over 50mph what not. So more than likely the spark plugs and/or the Fuel Filter.

-The Check Engine Light ill have to sort out , check all the fluids and what not first
