I am trying to train for distance running but I'm not really sure what my workout should be. I am the type of person who needs a set workout... any suggestions

There is a plethora of information through Roadrunner magazine, Runners World, and other such mags (Borders or Barnes & Noble) that can give you a good program. Caveat, you need to see which one you most likely will follow. For me it mile repeats, hills, and long runs.

It would be good if you can describe yourself and your habits to us. With a better understanding of your weight, age, height, what is your goals, and so on. This would give us a better understanding as well to try to get you some sort of schedule to can work with. I run every day from 5 to 12 km. plus I work out. I have a very tight schedule I work with every day. I can provide one for you if you like, but like I mention to you above we would need more information about yourself.

Although this is an old post, still a good question.
