My computer has recently become plagued with viruses, and I can't seem to get rid of any of them. I cannot do a system restore, and I cannot delete any of the bad files I actually find.

The following are my problems:

1: When I open my Internet Explorer, "Security Toolbar 7.1" appears, and I cannot seem to remove it.

2: In my Notification Area there is an icon that I cannot remove. Every few seconds it gives me a message that says I have a serious internal error, and clicking on the icon takes me to AntiVirGear - Technologically Advanced Spyware Removal Program (http://www.antivirgear.com/?aff=1012)

3: I am plagued with pop-ups claiming my computer is infected, and that I need to download anti-spyware products.

4: My homepage has changed, and I can't seem to change it back.

Running my normal anti-spyware applications does me no good what-so-ever, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to back up, your essential data, and do a complete system restore. You mentioned you can't do that, if this is a machine at work, you might need to contact your sys admin.

If this machine is on a network, you need to remove it immediately and contact your Information Assurance Security Officer
