Hello everybody!

I live in New-York for 4 years and I am an alien resident : I have the green card.
I would like to become a non-resident to stop paying as much as taxes.
I'm going to spend many times abroad in Europe, and I heard I have to be abroad a certain time abroad, etc...

What must I do ?
What have I to prove?
Where can I find the information online? I am looking for accurate information for few days but I would to have your advice.

The only way to convert to non-resident alien status is to revoke your green card.

However, you will STILL be liable for income earned while you are present in the United States, and it is likely that the taxes you pay will be HIGHER because you will NOT be eligible to claim the standard deduction as a non-resident alien.

Thank you for your answer but actually I would like to stop paying NY state Taxes.
I thought I can keep my green card and my statuts only to stop paying this taxe.

If you work in NY state, you will pay NY state income taxes, regardless of your residency status.

The only way to avoid that is to NOT work in NY state.
