Hello.
I've read a lot online about others having similar problems with the Kenmore Elite Gas Dryers.
I bought this dryer in 2000.
Problem 1: Dryer plugged in, touch pad will not activate when pressed.
Problem 2: Touch pad will activate when pressed, timer will start when options are selected and "start" button is pressed. BUT, only the time begins countdown. Nothing else happen.
Problem 3: Same as problem two only incessant beeping will occur and signal volume button will light up on its own (as if it were pressed repeatedly but I am not pressing anything).
Problem 4: Similar to 3 with the beeping but the dryer actually turns on and dries its contents.
This can not be a circuit board problem In my opinion. I have two boards and sometimes I'll switch between the two with varied results. Something is triggering the board to respond as it is. I am wondering if some other part is worn out/defective and is triggering this behavior.
Thanks for your help.
