I have a Murray Model 42910x92a riding mower. I started it the other day and it ran for about 2 minutes then died. I tried to start it again, but the starter would not turn over; there was no "click" of the solenoid. I checked the battery, has plenty of juice. I bridged the solenoid and the starter turned the engine over very strong, but would not fire. If the solenoid is bad, it should allow the unit to start after bridging shouldn't it? Any thoughts?

Could also be a bad ignition switch. Start tracking the 12 vdc from the battery to the ignition switch ten the solenid and then starter. Somewhere along this circuit the 12vdc dropped out.

Check the "kill" wire from the coil. It could have problems.

Not sure but does Murray use a kill switch under the seat?

On my murray turffmaster mine would not turn over check the break petal safety switch. And under the seat safy switch.
