It is a 7 yr old washer (sm 9710768-C) in which water is leaking from the bottom of the machine around mid cycle. Also the bleach container is not draining. The rear hoses are dry. Probably unrelated, last year it didn't spin but the repairman said that it was because a nut atop the agitator wasn't tighten correctly at the factory leading to improper wear.
Any ideas on what the problem is and is it easy to fix or should I call for a repair? If the latter, Sears or an independent?

Thanks

That doesn't appear to be a good model #. See www3.sears.com for diagram.
Define mid cycle. Mid total. Then define. When the water starts to empty?
There may be a huge plastic check valve in the drain line.

Update. The correct model # is 110.20096991 (has Catalyst cycle and 3 speed motor). Not exactly sure when the water begins to leak but I have seen it leak while the water is being pumped out of the tub. Given that the bleach container isn't draining into the tub, I wonder if there is an obstruction in one of the

Out of a 40 minute cycle (permanent press), the water leaks 12 minutes into the cycle while the clothes is agitating. I did not see any valve in the diagrams at 3sears.com

Have answer for all who have same problem. Sears opened the control panel, which is held by two screws. There is a T-connection for the water hose to wash the bleach into the tub. It had popped off. One minute to fix. Save yourself $65.

Thanks for that tidbit. Our brand new Kenmore large capacity washer required 14 service calls before the leaking problem on it was corrected. They ran a bead of silicone around the frame of the tub where the cabinet sits down on it. Evidently there is enough splash over the top that there is a lot of water on the floor. No one ever found the leak, but that did fix it. At least they kept trying.
