Can someone help me with what I should look at to find problem? The dryer is electric, and started with a rubbing, or grinding type of noise. Then the noise stopped, we hoped it fixed itself, however unlikely that is. Now there is no heat, and it keeps running on and on with no heat. What should I look at? Timer, thermal fuse, heating element? Any suggestions would be so much appreciated.

ddbrads- I would go to the heating element SECOND, check it with ohm meter , (UNHOOK ONE OF THE WIRES FIRST<( ALSO UN HOOK DRYER AT THE PLUG). Don't want to get electricuted do we?> If it's o.k. ( FIRST CHECK to see if a breaker has triped, if so reset ){ push all way to off then back to full on, #3 _ Check with ohm meter the hilgh limit & LOW limit THERMOSTATES. #4- Check the vents for blockages, Also the one going out the wall. Good Luck F.B.E. The timer would be the last thing to check.:::
