Well I have a toy poodle she just had five puppies and they are all doing fine. She had them while we were all at work and school so when we got home we found her outside she dug a whole and put the puppies in there and now she is all muddy and I want to shower her so when her puppies feed on her nipples they will be clean but how soon can I bathe her and treat her for fleas.

The only solution that may work is Dawn dish soap for the fleas, as you can use i on puppies without detrimental effect.. It would also be advisable to treat the enviroment or she will just reinfest as soon as you take them off.

How long should I wait they are three days old can I shower them now and the mom too or just the mom.

I really find it upsetting that so many people are so irresponsible about breeding dogs. Those unwilling to make the major commitment doing breeding right, should spay/neuter their pets by 6 months.

In one of the threads I posted a link to, there is a report of a bad reaction to Dawn. I would never use it. Just because somebody posts here doesn't mean their advice is good.

lopezma, normally I wouldn't post because I don't believe in breeding or helping people who have taken the normal precautions when their dog has given birth. Please, DO NOT bathe the puppies. Absolutely the wrong thing to do. For more direction, I suggest you call your vet and talk to him/her about all of this. As labman stated, we did have someone on here whose dog had an allergic reaction to Dawn. Do not take any chances. Call your vet for direction.

Vets' advice often varies. You just have to do what they say and hope for the best.
