OK. I have this little kid. She gave me this horrific item that she thinks is so beautiful. My other friends and I really hate because it was a frock. She thinks it looks good for a frock and should wear it when we next meet.

But the problem is when we DO next meet its at the mall having a fairy party and I can't go out wearing a frock on... if I don't I'll upset her and if I tell her the truth... that sensitive little kid will go sobbing out and won't talk to me for about a month (I know, lame):D

But what should I do?:confused:

Just in order to get additional information from you, and thus get better answers, what is it about the frock that you find to be so horrific?

Sorry, didn't make it clear. Bows, ribbons. It looks really cute on little people but not on me. no. OK do you know those fairy dresses? With those criss cross action thingies and then they have winges and then they're like those cinderella ones? Yea

I mite be a bit over the top but some of my friends (say school) are actually going for this competition at the mall and I can't GO!

Why can't you go to the competition?

Can you buy her a similar one and insist she wear it.
Maybe she will realize how ugly it is and not want to wear it and be in the same position as you. Then if she does wear it you won't feel like the odd ball.
And make sure you wear a top underneath it. That way you can wear it like a jacket that you can take off as soon as you get there. When she says something about you taking it off you can say you are really too hot to wear it.
