Upgraded our circuit breaker to 20 amps for each slot. Is it possible/ safe to use one slot (20 amps capacity) for light bulbs and a garage door motor? The breakdown are as follows:

Kitchen > 4 fluorescent bulbs 40 watts ea.
Dining > 1 30 watts curcular bulb with ceiling fan motor
Bedroom 1 > 3 20 watts spiral bulbs
Bedroom 2 > 3 20 watts bulbs
Bedrrom 3 > 2 20 watts bulbs
Hallway > 4 40 watts bulbs
Mirror bulbs> 8 50 watts bulbs
Garage door motor> unknown wattage ( provide your standard info )

Other info: we checked the circuit breaker slots and there are some loose mounting of the circuit breakers... we turned off the particular slot to replace a bulb... when we switched it back on there was no more power... did it several times to no avail... advise please.. thanks

A 20 amp circuit is sufficient for the load you listed.

Is the panel new, and you have loose fitting breakers? Either the breaker is defective or the metal tab the breaker plugs onto is defective.

You do have #12 wire?

Thanks for the reply.. and yes the panel is new... called the contractor who did it and they are giving us a lot of excuses just to take a look on it... I have to pay $75 to have the broken switch replaced by an electrician last Saturday as it was bothering me every time I turned on a light or plug in an appliance in the house.. at least I am complacent now that the 20 amp capacity is able to handle the load I listed above before.. so much thanks... best regards...
