What you seem to be describing is short cycling. The system is low on refridgerant charge and needs to be inspected for leaks. Dye can be added to track down the small leaks.

Add freon and the gauge is already full

Also change the a/c switch

Other factors control A/C operation, besides system charge. Weak or corroded relay contacts can hamper clutch function. Also check the pressure switch.

???????????????????????????????????????

Gauge says its full, what is the pressure for the LO and HI side, a full gauge is not a good enough indicator, we need to know what the pressures are when it is running and at the very point it shuts off.
