I was using my kitchen faucet just fine while I was cooking. I went to turn it on again (after I had used it less than 5 minutes prior) and the water spurted at my for a brief second and then quit. Now no water will come out of the faucet or the sprayer. Everywhere else in (and outside) the house the water is working just fine. I have checked the aerator (first thing I thought of) and it is not clogged at all. Any suggestions as to what I need to do to fix it myself?

There is a small valve inside the faucet that makes the water either come out of the spray (if you have one) or out the faucet. Sometimes these get stuck and need cleaning. If you can not clean it, or it is worn out, just remove it until you can get another one.
