Hello all,

A quick explanation of my situation: I have a one bath condo, and would like to build a half bath over the existing bathroom. Unfortunately, there is a big plaster "box" sticking out of the ceiling right above where I'd like to build that half bath, lowering the ceiling height to about 5ft. I have been told that in the box is the plumbing for the condo above mine (which has its bathroom in the same spot as mine). I am wondering if it would be possible to move whatever's bulky in that box to a different part of the ceiling and somehow connect it to it's current site.

Thanks!

Not sure you can move that plumbing and it will be expensive and require permits and permission from the POA. In most condo you only own from the paint surface inward. The drywall and everything beyond it is not your property and is likely consisted common space.
