In my family room I have a Heatilator gas fireplace that came with a three wired remote switch which allows one to turn off and on manually as well as turn the system on/off depending on temperature setting. The problem with this system is that the fireplace will turn on/off at any time the temperature drops, however, during the night I do not need the fireplace to turn on in my family room. Therefore, I always have to turn the unit off during the night. However, I do want the room to be heated in the morning so I have to turn it on and wait a while for the room to be comfortable.
Does anyone know of a thermostat similar to the one I use for the hotwater boiler that can be programmed for different time and temperature settings during the week that will work with fireplace and the three wire connection?

Likely it can be done, but to help I need many more details. What controls the fireplace turning on/off, and what does it do, fan, gas? Is there already a 24 volt transformer?

I took a standard digital thermostat and hooked up the red wire from my gas valve to the rh terminal and the white wire to the w terminal and the thermostat controls my fire gas fire place just fine. Keep in mind I don't have a fan or any other gizmo's on my standard gas fireplace. Hope this helps
