My 2006 ford f-250 diesel pickup started jerking going down the highway like someone shut off the key and instantly turned it back on causing a split second jerking motion. There is no consistancy involved it is random and seems to do it on the highway not in town. Dealer has no idea what it is. Put supplement in fuel didn't change it, any ideas

I'm inclined to suspect it's a fuel issue. Diesels hate water; therefore, drain water and change fuel filter every 10,000 miles. Try to be extra careful who you buy fuel from. The new ultra low sulphur diesel fuel is causing many to experience problems and have to add diesel fuel supplement.

Txgreasemonkey loves to have the same answer for diesels as he does for Hondas. Stop answering diesel questions dude. Check for carbon in the egr valve. Make sure pintle moves up and down fully. Check for codes. That is the best way to solve your problem. 6.0L Fords have a laundry list of problems.

He's trying to be helpful. Why don't you stop answering questions that were asked last year?
