I have such a high respect for forensic science. I want to continue after high school to proceed in forensics. I am scared though that I am not smart enough and scared that it will be hard as hell. I just want some first base knowledge on college to major in that field is like?

Hi,
Here is a link:
http://www.forensicpage.com/new05.htm
It shows many, many colleges and universities which offer Forensic Science studies.
You could contact, email, phone, etc, one of these near your local area, or any of them for that matter. Ask for a course content outline, to see what courses you would have to take.
I would also ask what grade point average one needs in high school to enter these studies.
Remember, anything worth while is worth working for. If you have the grade point average, or close to it, for entering the college, go for it.
Here is another link:

Click on the link about "crime scene forensics", and it will show you the courses needed.

Hey, don't doubt yourself. I'm in the same plan right now and I love it. I thought I wasn't smart enough for it... investigating that is. SO what I did was that I decided I wouldn't do investigation, I could work in the labs with the hair samples and DNA. Now I decided I am fascinated with the body and I'm on my way to becoming a medical examiner... first mortician though. Don't doubt yourself, find something you like in the field and go for it.
Take care.
