I am racking my brains...

I need help on figuring out how to write an equation of the line with x-intercept (-6,0) and y intercept (0,-1)

Please help me understand how to get this question answered and please show me step by step

I think this is how to do it... but am not sure...

find the slope first: m=y2-y1 which is -1-0 which is -1/6
x2-x1 0-(-6)

Since I know the slope is -1/6 I can use y= mx+b

since I know the slope is also m and I know that the y-intercept is y

then the equation should be the following: y=-1/6x-1

does this look like the correct equation?

First, find the slope. I assume you know how to do that. Difference in y's over difference in x's.
