Hi there,

I am working with a QuarkXpress document on a MAC laptop, when I try to turn the document in to a PDF, all the fonts go unknown. I am not sure why this is when they are all in the Fonts, System folder and they all work when I am working with the document. I got all the files and fonts from a disk from a production agency. I need to turn it in to a PDF so that I can print it from my PC. Any ideas as to how I can get the fonts to work with I distill it ? I need the PDF with the right fonts!

Any help is appreciated, :)
Thank you,
Steph

You might take a look at this support document from Adobe:

Not all fonts are embeddable in PDF files.

Steph,

Are you running OS X or OS 9? Sometimes Quark in classic mode displays this problem. If you're in OS 9, make sure that you're choosing to embed fonts in Acrobat. Check the settings for the PDF that you're making. Also, what printer are you printing to that requires you to print from a PC? The Mac, especially under OS X is very graceful in printing to even previously PC only printers. I take it, also, that you have ATM or SuitCase installed for your font management?

It can also be an issue is non-standard fonts were used, or are damaged .
