I pay child support and will continue but are there any legal repercussions if I relinquish my visitation rights only?
I have been dealing with the custodial parents bitterness, jealousy and control for 9 years and the experience has been very draining to me emotionally!
I am threatened, and my child is often used a pawn by the custodial parent and quite frankly I am fed up!!
Are there any legal repercussions for relinquishing my visitation rights only? I love my child but the custodial parent is too much to deal with going forward. It seems to only get worse! I will continue to make my child support payments and be here emotionally for my child but I just can not continue to deal with the custodial parent.

Please help.

This is like asking if there are legal repercussions if you turn vegan and relinquish your right to eat meat. If you don't want to exercise your visitation rights, then don't. There is no formal relinquishing of such rights. There is no way to force you to exercise your visitation.

But I have to ask, if you really love your child as you claim, why abandon the child? How can you be there emotionally, if you stop spending time with the child.

Without more details, its hard to understand the situation but it looks to me like you are hurting the child the most.
