Could you help me with this eqatution all the way through because I keep getting the wrong answer the answer is suppose to be (-3,1/2)

the equation is

4x+6y=-9
2x-10y=-1


please help :D

what is the substitution for f(x)=2x-6 using 1 for x

Concentrate first on a single one of the two equations.
Isolate one of the variables in that equation.
Substitute that number in where the same variable appears in the second equation.

I am a feshman and I need help does any body no how to determine whether the ordered pair is a solution of the equation y=2x+1,(5, 11)

For your first question, it's actually a lot easier if you combine the equations so as to eliminate one of the variables, then solve for the other. For your second question, plug in 5 for x and see if y turns out to be 11 when you do.
