Okay, so this is my problem

I'm 18.. have had my period for about 6 years now. I had a boyfriend for 2 years, we didn't use protection, he always ejaculated in me, but nothing ever happened. In th beginning of may 2007, I got my period and it seemed pretty normal. Than I missed my period for 2 months and got it again July 9th, 07. This period was really weird. Super light to the point that if I wanted to wear a pad all day without changing it I could (I didn't though!). It was brown, sometimes would go orangy, with a dark brown tint. That "period" lasted close to 4 months, ending around oct. 1, though there were 2-3 days here and there throughout those 4 months where there was no bleeding. I got a ultrasound and x ray, finding out I had acid reflux, though that had no affect on my period. Okay, so, I got my period again oct. 19, and it is extremely heavy with horrific cramps and lots of blood clots. Ive had these cramps from the first day of my period on oct 19, and its now the 23 and they haven't got any better, not even with Tylenol. The blood has been a bright neon red, and I have been having some terrible diarrhea. This morning when I woke up the blood was minimum in comparison to yesterday, but in the last 2 hours or so I've been experiencing some really painful cramps and a huge bloodclot thing just came out.. Ive attached it, please tell me if this is bad enough to take to the doctors asap. Thanks in advanced

-Really worried about my fertility.

I would certainly go see a doctor if your periods are irregular and you've been having unprotected sex and have issues with pain/weird clotting/irregularity.

Also, I would suggest always using protection!

I think the symptoms you describe warrant a visit to your doctor.

Please make an appointment to visit a doctor. It might be wise that you show him/her this photo, but that alone doesn't worry me. The whole picture of symptoms you described deserves professional attention.

Not trying to preach here, but I want to remind you that unprotected sex doesn't just carry a risk of pregnancy, but of STDs and AIDS... no matter how long you've been with your partner.

What concerns me here is the bright red blood. Blood this color can signify a medical emergency. Please get medical help ASAP.

I'm very safe with myself.. We both got tested for everything before engaging in unprotected sex.. and followed up with those tests every few months. I'm not with him anymore, and I was tested for everything following our breakup, clean as a misel.

Sweetie, I am not concerned about STIs, but more spontaneous abortion, better known as miscarriage. Have you been to the doctor yet?

I'm curious how they found acid reflux from an x-ray, ultrasound and blood work?? Isn't acid reflux tested by having a scope done?? Puzzled. I hope someone can clarify.

no it was an x-ray.. an x-ray called GM SERIES.

Well, that makes a little more sense. Thanks for the clarification.

When I had what seemed like a period for 3 months straight I was told that it stops being considered a period after 7 days. You may ask for a D&C or see if they feel it's a good idea. I was glad I had one in the end since they can't test in the uterus without doing one.

I haven't see a dr. yet and I'm having similar symptoms
And it's freaking me out because this is the longest I've had a period, for 3 weeks so far started really light the frist week then the second week heavy and now
That I'm on the third week it freaks me out beacause I'm heavy then light then mild.
And I've been really sexually active with my partner.

I heard from commudian clinic that bright red is okay, but dark red is bad. The dark red means it has time to dry. However, they were talking about blood in bowel movements. I'm not a doctor, so it's best to go see a doctor just for safety. Feel free to check out www.chick.com Jesus loves you. I'll be praying for you.
