I can't light my pilot. Because there's no pilot button to push, it has a control knob; that only goes to on or off. The knob doesn't depress down or up. It has a pilot adjust screw and that's it. How do I light it?

Are you sure it has apilot that needs to be lit it might be electronic pilot what's the brand of furnace?
