Tell her how glad you are that the two of you are friends. Tell her that you feel very comfortable with her and feel that you can talk about anything. See if she feels the same way. If she seems to share the same feelings, ask her if she knows anyone that she likes right now. That way you will know if she likes someone else a lot or now. Just drop hints that you like her and see how she will respond. And like Jiser said, if she says 'no' then you may be putting your friendship at risk. It will depend on whether both of you can overcome the awkward feeling that goes along with that. If she doesn't feel the same way, try to meet new girls and get to know them as well as you know your good friend. If it doesn't work out, don't worry.
