When my washer died a few months ago my neighbor gave me their old one because it made the clothes smell funny. I thought they were just exaggerating and gladly took this really nice almost new washer.
They were not exaggerating, the clothes smell musty or or like dirty stale water if you leave them for even a few minutes after the washer shuts off. Is there some filter that needs cleaned or is the pump not emptying the washer comepletely or what is going on. I don't do laundry every day as there are just two of us. The washer cleans great and if you do more than one load the latter loads don't smell as strong as the first. I just think there is old water standing somewhere or soggy lint that must be causing it but I have no idea how to find it and clean it. I need help please!
This is a Sears Kenmore Elite top loader and is not very old. Was probably close to top of the line as it has tons of settings and bells and whistles. They didn't have the owner manual anymore either.
Thanks in advance
Mary
