Lol I want what he's taking!
Actually, walking a stick of brocolli around the city sounds like something I would do.

Yes, it's true. That's what happens in a state of complete Socialism. The government does all your thinking for you and the next thing you know, the vegetable is mans best friend. I hear fruits are held in very high regard also.

How do you stay on the subject of a man walking a vegetable on a leash? There is only so much one can say; however, if he and the veg were having a conversation, that would be different. Especially if the brocolli was talking back or they stopped and the brocolli took a dump. Then, you got a lively conversation. Since the OP did not mention that happening, we amble on, best we can.

What if the brocolli was swelling with some kind of... vegetable gass, maybe it could imitate movement and walking if it is being dragged along, and maybe make vegetably cute sounds as gass escapes occasionally?

Yea, and then it raised one of it's little broccoli legs and farted real loud and it smelled just like rotten cabbage!

Smelled like cabbage?
Mrs brocolli will be heartbroken!
He better cover up that smell before he finishes his walk!
