My 88 Honda Accord Lxi is sluggish when taking off. It has 120k on it with a new timing belt 10k ago and an auto trans and the car works great otherwize. As I pull out and hold the gas pedal in one position, it is very sluggish until 2200 - 3000 rmps. Then it takes off like someone kicked it. Any ideas?

I would go over the electrical system and likely replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, Ignition Control Module (ICM), and coil. The ICM may be the real culprit. Here's how to replace the ICM and coil yourself:

HEY!! Problem solved... ICM, cap & rotor. Works like a new car. Everyone should know that your advice is GOOD ADVICE!

Thanks. With good preventive maintenance, these Hondas are hard to wear out.
