 Hello, I'm new here. We have been having power "surges" in our home. For example: I turned on my computer, then hit the remote for the TV and my computer shut down, then powered back up. This type of surge occurs all over the house, has been happening for quite some time. Is there some type of current controller that I should be looking for? Or does anyone have a clue as to what could cause this problem? Even the lights go dim and bright!

It sounds like there are wiring problems in the house
And the wires in the breaker panel may need to
Be tightened so they make good contact
If you are not comfortable working with
Electricity you probably need an electrician

The lights brightening is an indication of a loose neutral. A loose neutral will cause the 120 volts to increase to abnormal voltages, as high as 240 volts. This is not a good condition and needs to be traced and corrected soon.
Not only will light bulbs burn out quickly, damage can be done to TV's, any electronc equipment, motors, etc.
This loose connection may be in the panel or meter, but can also be a loose connection he utility connections, either at the point of attachment where the aerial lines connect to your home, or at their transformer.
If you call in an electrician, ask for the utility to be there at the same time.
