Well I really like this guy I just turned 16 and he just turned 19.. my parents don't want us to be together because they think its illegal... I was wondering if it really is.. sex is not the thing we will not do that.. and if it helps I live in Arkansas helo me! I want to be with this guy!

It is not illegal for you to date. The age of consent for Arkansas is 16 so it probably would not be illegal to have sex, though there may be a age difference issue.

The difference from 16-19 is not that much an issue. But you do need to discuss this in greater details with your parents. There may be other issues they are concerned about.

If your parents don't want you to, don't do it. They know better than you. This guy is really IMO too old for you, and if you think he is going to be cool with no sex, you're fooling yourself. You said yourself you really want this guy. You will end up having sex, then you'll be posting here again about how he dumped you.
Do your parents and yourself a favor and obey them on this one.

If you were 20 and he 23 there would be no issue but try to imagine the process your parents are going through. It may or may not be justified but their into it and maybe they need your support and input.
