I'm having trouble starting an older aerator with a B&S 3.5hp horizontal shaft engine with a Pulsa Jet carb. I've changed diaphragm, and carb-to-fuel tank gasket. It can be started and run on starter fluid, but doesn't seem to pump gas into carburetor. What else to look for?

Should have little pickup tubes on it, make sure the ends of them are clear of junk that they can pick up that and they can crack or break off, have you soaked and cleaned the carb with carb cleaner?

Thanks for super-quick reply.
Re: Cleaning... Been there & done that. It's clean as a whistle as far as I can tell. The larger, plastic pick up tube had a screen that I've removed for now. The smaller, metal pick up tube that goes in the constant level well seems to have a small ball (check valve?) in the bottom. Should that ball be movable? The engine will run great -- just can't get gas up in the carb. Seems too simple to take to shop.

That screen you removed, I would advise not to leave it as so, it does keep some large chunks of trash out of the carb. Can't remember what that ball is there for though, I believe its movable though... does that little (well) there have any holes in the bottom? Other then that, make double sure the plastic pickup tube is clear. If any trash was in the tank, it could've clogged it again

In the correct sequence list the steps you must follow to properly adjust the pulsa-jet carburetor for maximum power.

The newer plastic ones can't be adjusted... the older metal ones can, but it's the same as other carbs, 1.5 turns out from all the way in snug as a baseline, then fine tune.

I Have A Pulsa Jet. I Have Replaced Both Pickups, Fuel Pump, Tank Gasket, Intake Gasket. I Started The Horizontal Shaft Engine And It Run Beautiffly For About An Hour And Quut. Tests Revealed No Fuel In Combustion Chamber. It Will Run If One Keeps His Hand Over The Intake, But Will Stop On Removal. Is Tank To Carburator Airtight Seal Necessary For The Engne To Run On This Model.. I've Checked All The Obvious.. I Am Hoping For Some Clues Before I Take Everything Back Of Again.. Also Does The Diaphram Springs Go Weak On The Pulsa Jet. Thanks:d

Check the tank for rust.

That "little ball" is in fact a check valve, so make sure you don't remove it!
