Hello... I am writing my second book and I would like to include people's stories and poems in it. Do I have to have them sign a contract for release of one time rights for me to be able to use this? SECOND QUESTION: I may have a doctor write up a section on what services he performs.
If my editor fixes the text to make it sound less technical, do I then SHOW the doctor what has been edited and get him to sign something that says he approves of the edited text? THANK YOU..
Angie

For the first part, see this related thread (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/showthread.php?t=14256).

... as for the editing angle, I would do as you suggest for 2 reasons:

1. You'll have his permission on the final version for the legality end of it, and
2. You'll be sure that your edits of medical/technical stuff are correct for your readers.

Hi... do I have them sign some sort of a formal contract to have their permission to: (1) include them in the book, (2) and their approval for the final editing? If so,where do I find these legal forms? Thanks. Angie
