View Full Version : Was being Israeli nicer than being Palestinian?

And was being Serbian nicer than being Kosovar?

Some Palestinians soon will be begging for the Israelis to come back. A new squad of morality police has begun detaining Palestinians. “The 12-member squad appears to be an attempt by President Mahmoud Abbas' West Bank government to challenge the monopoly on religious righteousness claimed by the militant group Hamas, the rival ruler of Gaza…. In addition to booking smokers, snackers and carob juice drinkers, Qendah is also on the alert for young men whistling at girls or drivers playing their car stereos too loud.”

Does that sound reminiscent of what we are hearing here from the fat right?

EDIT: "Anyone imagining that Moslem extremists must be seen as a threat only east of Suez should read Chris Deliso's alarming accounts of their activities in parts of the Balkans made vulnerable by wars and poverty." This historically volatile region saw some of the worst violence of the late 20th century in the Yugoslav Wars of Secession. During these conflicts, stunningly shortsighted and politically motivated policies of the United States and its allies directly allowed Islamic mujahedin and terrorist-related entities to establish a foothold in the region--just as with the progenitors of the Taliban a decade earlier in Afghanistan.

I am assuming that you meant "far" right. Otherwise, I have no idea what my weight has to do with the matter. :)

But yes, this is clearly exactly what people like me have been talking about from day one. Those who wished for, prayed for (and killed for) a religious mullacracy are learning just how good things were under Israeli control. They are learning that the Islamofascists are exponentially more brutal than the Israelis ever were, even on their worst days. They are now figuring out that without Israeli intervention they have no jobs, no peace, no security, and no future.

Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but self-induced comeuppance is hot and sweet and tasty.

Interestingly enough there is a growing number of terrorists who have been rehabilitated and who have renounced violence.

Yeah, being on the receiving end tends to put a different perspective on terrorism.

This goes back to the idea that the best way to fight terrorism is to be more brutal to the terrorists than the terrorists are. It seems pretty clear that they can't handle the heat when they are the targets. So the best way to stop them is to make them the targets of our brutality until they cry "uncle". Make the price of terrorism so high that they have no choice but to renounce terrorism. And it clearly works, since they are doing exactly that when they are on the receiving end of the violence.

I have heard it before a few times that the Palestineans*prefer* Jewish government because it is fairer than Islamic rule.

One thing about monotheism(Jud, Christianity, Islam) is that their god has expectations of perfection for human beings who are born totally average and flawed. This is one reason why religion and politics has to remain separate!! The only reasonable goal is justice, not perfection, for people!

True…another thing that can be learned is that interment was a good thing for these terrorist in the article…were it not for the internment they likely would still be of the old mindset they had as terrorist.
