Hello, my name is Monica, and I live in Georgia. I had a credit card account opened while I was in college. The account was opened in 1999, however, it came off my credit report December 2006. I received a phone call from a Law office threatening to take legal actions against me about the account. Isn't there some kind of statue of limitations since the account is no longer on my credit report?

The SOL(Statute of Limitations) and CRTP(Credit Reporting Time Periods) are separate.

The Statute of Limitations applies ONLY to the creditor's ability to use the legal system tro collect on a debt. Your obligation to pay a debt never expires. In Georgia, the SOL is 4 years from the date of default on the account.
