What rights do I have as a full parent to my son? If the father of my son wants to take him to another state to spend time with him what do I do to prevent that from happening because I want to have monitored visits and since we live in different states, how do I prevent my sons father from taking him away from me?

First, has a judge granted you full custody of your son? If so does the father have visitation rights? If you have full custody and he has no visitation rights then you can say if the father can see your son or not. Otherwise I don't think you can do much. Try talking to the father and make him see reason.
But, remember he is the father- your son may look up to him, even if you hate him. If he wants to spend quality time with your son, and go fishing or whatever, let him. As long as your son is in no danger, it is good to let his father visit him and let them get to know each other better.
Hope everything works out okay.
Good Luck!

You have to go to a family court and get full physical custody with supervised visitation. This should have been hammered out in the divorce if you were married or after the birth if you weren't.

However, unless the father presents a danger to the child, you are unlikely to get what you want. I strongly recommend getting an attorney to guide you thorugh the courts.

I got full custody over my son but his father lives in another state and I don't want him to take him off without being supervised but I strongly say that I don't want him to go to visit him alone. But his father can come up here only and I wanted to figure out how to get it set up that way where.. if he wants to see his son.. he would have to come up to see him only... so I need advice on that.

Again, you need to get a visitation order in place.
