I'm trying to install a downloaded .exe file. Software that I purchased.

I run the "check online for a solution" and none is found.

If it's just about AutoPlay then maybe this can help:
Enable or Disable Windows Autorun / Autoplay feature? (http://www.infopackets.com/channels/en/windows/gazette/2003/20031127_enable_or_disable_windows_autorun_autopla y_feature.htm)

I'm not sure about the cause of the crash.

I've got Autorun set, for the Software category, to install or run the program. Coincidentally IE and Help does not work either. I think my kids have screwed up my new laptop... might be time to format it :(

Time to make a new user account for the kids and be diligent about switching to it.
