Hello, I'm trying to help my son with homework and I have forgotten how to do this part
of the problem since I can't recall the distribution rules
5n+4=(7n+1)-2n
I need to see the steps... not just the answer
Thanks
Loretta

5n+4=(7n+1)-2n Can be written without the parentahsees
5n+4=7n+1-2n Add like Terms
5n+4=5n+1 Get N on one side
4=1 This problem doesn't work as N was cancelled out.

Always do what in () first then solve the problem

You can't do anything in the parentashees in this problem at first so that doesn't really help
