View Full Version : Is it a good idea to like an older guy?

I am 19 years old and falling in love with guy 13 years older than me. This came as a surprise for me because is the first time I like someone with so many years of difference. He seems to like me to, but the age thing could be holding him back a little. I have been flirting with him for a couple of months, and know that think are advancing, I have been thinking more of what I am doing. I am afraid the age difference would be too much, and that later on he would ask for more that just hugs and kisses, and I am not ready for it yet. I really like him, and I don't know if it would be wise to continue and listen to my feelings. I fell desperate, confused and helpless with this situation. I would really appreciate some comments.
:(

Hey,

I'm 29 and I just dated a girl who was 20and I can tell you the long term outlook is bleak. We both jumped in and convinced ourselves that age should not prevent "love?". After a month reality kicked in and we agreed on NOTHING, lifestyle, school, career goals, qwe fought over everything.

I guess thepoint is that a younger girl cannot provide an older guy with what he needs at that age and alternatively an older man cannot satisfy a younger girl. I mean I was opening a business and she was trying to find a job in a mall! Not a lot of back and forth on that one y'know.

I'm 37 and just finished a relation with a girl who was 22 . Don't do it ! Is not worth it .90 % of cases don't work well . Too many differences .

I disagree, I know what you are saying and understand the level of goals and such. But if the 2 people are committed to each other age is not always a factor. As long as you both have similar intrests and want to make the other happy age is just a number, just my .02 :)

I hear what your saying but that is what we all said to justify doingit in the first place, NEVERLAND or some stuff y'know. Yeah u hear stories of these things ending happily but reality isreality and like my man above mentioned 90% fail, being through it I agree. Not even worth the pain afterwards (as evidenced by my lengthy posts on her in other forums) If u only have a 10% shot at notgetting hurt than fold at the table princess.

The real difference is that at 19 you don't now what really love is and almost for sure the pain will follow .Trust me ! In those cases for both of you .But , like a lesson of life, you can go trough pain to learn something . Anyway, at your age you will have some lessons to learn .
It is your choice.
