I am twenty years old and really smart. I attend college, which I fund by myself. I just wanted to know if there is a family out there who would want to have a daughter. I know that I am older than the usually adopted age, but I am just seeking the help of a kind an loving two parent family; one which I have never had the liberty to experience. So is there any one... any one who would want a daughter?

Hi jelz,

What happened to your own father and mother?

At 20, you are already emanicpated and can decide your own future path. I would love a 20 year old daughter but I am a single Mom.

What prompts you to ask this question?

As you are legally an adult the time to stand on your own two feet is NOW!!

Do you empty, wash out, and refill cat litter boxes?

You can not be legally adopted since you are an adult now, at this point and time you should be looking for your own family, not someone else's

It sounds like the poster isn't looking for financial support from a family, but rather emotional support and love which comes with having a family. Someone to spend the holidays with, to call when she passes her exams and give her a pat on the back.

jelz I don't know if you will find a family to "adopt" you, but you can certainly seek out healthy friendships and get love and support there. I've known people in the past who are closer to their friend's parents than their own - it's possible. Hang in there and stay positive.

Wow. You are brave and amazing.
AND the post above is wrong! You can be adopted at any age! I have seen it done. It is a little different, but what it does is legally binds you to that family and them to you. From there on out it looks like you are there daughter in legal records.

I think you can be adopted and I think it would be a good idea for you.

I saw a clip on adult adoptions on a show like 20/20. It has been so long that I can't remember what show. An adult female who was totally rejected by her mother got adopted by a couple who never had children. The adopted adult started an organization to match people up but I cannot remember the name of it.

God Bless!

I wish you all the luck this world has to offer. I agree with many of the posters. Why don't you volunteer this holiday season at a local senior center. If not parents maybe you can form a relationship with an older person who is missing there family at this coming time of the year.

Good afternoon, I am a 44 yr old mother who would love to have another daughter. I wish that I could help but I do not have a place of my own and am only on ssi. I really wish I could help.
