I am dealing with a 1992 civic dx, it died while driving, fuel system is good, pump runs during prime as well as cranking, there is no spark, the timing belt is good-I can watch the lifters move through the oil fill with the cap off. The check engine light turns on when the key is first turned on ( while fuel pump is running) then shuts off.
I am familiar with toyota's in that if they have a short in a sensor the check engine light will not come on at all. Does anyone know if honda is similar, heard of similar problems
Might the distributor or ignighter cause this?
This is the first time that it stalled but has had some starting problems in the past-main relay has 1 connection that I will be repairing-not causing current problem though

Check Ignition Control Module and coil--AutoZone will do this for free. If the problem persists, try substituting a known-good distributor--there may be a problem with internal sensors.
