I recently purchased a house and I am in a lease in an apartment complex. I have been told by some people that when they purchased they were able to get out of their lease. My complex will not let me but what am I to do

You will be responsible for the montly lease payments until they re-rent the unit.

Unless there is a termination clause in your lease that releases you from its terms when purchasing a home, I'm afraid you are stuck with the monthly payments until the landlord can re-rent the unit. Check your lease or ask the landlord if they will allow a subleasor.
