How much does it usually cost? Are the results drastic? Any personal experiences? /:D

i had my teeth bleached before i got veneers and i think it was about $500 just to do the zoom whitening. my teeth hurt like hell after for about 2 days but it was well worth it. they were already preety white but yea it was a briiight white and it continues to whiten your teeth for i think like 24 hrs. it was so worth it though!

WHAT? It hurts? That's bizarre... I have had three root canals and five extractions in one week, I think I can handle some tooth pain. Where are you located and where did you get yours done?

im in nashville. it may not bother you like it bothered me but it felt like i had a constant brain freeze in my teeth on the day i got it done. the second day was a little better but it was intense pain. maybe you can handle it better than me but like i said it was so worth it.

I imagine... I've wanted to get my teeth laser whitened for a long time. I have calcium stains and am a coffee addict, so my teeth are yucky looking.

Get the laser done if your teeth are bad then I would follow up with the White Strips after that. They make my teeth white! I drink coffee too but I "wash it down" with water. Not after every sip but say after every cup. It helps to get the coffee out of your mouth so it doesn't sit on your teeth. Drink water after tea and pop too.

The thing that I am concerned about is the cost... do most dentists do laser whitening? Does it generally cost a lot? I've been told to use straws for every beverage to aviod further staining my teeth. But it's hard to drink hot beverages from a straw...

Not all dentists do laser whitening. Be prepared for some sensitivity after (could last a few days or more). A hint: brush with Sensodyne for 2 weeks before you have the whitening done and continue for a week or so after.

Remember that the kind of staining you get from foods and beverages you have will still accummulate. After you do the whitening you should use a toothpaste like Crests Vivid White and a toothbrush like the Sonicare to keep the stains off the teeth.

You may find that the calcium stains you talk of may get whiter as the teeth get whiter. If you want to be rid of those stains permanently veneers would be the way to go.

Coffee(black), tea(clear), dark soft drinks, red wine and soya sauce are the main culprits for staining teeth. If you don't want to deal with stain... reduce the amount of these you consume.

Thank you for the advice. I've found that MOST dentists in my area don't do laser whitening. And I'm having a hard time find where to go. And I would do veneers, but I cannot afford that.

You could try this website to see where the closest dentist is that does ZOOM.

Thank you. I called and they are closed right now. How much do you think it would run? Would they let me make payments?

I honestly don't know what it would cost in the USA. Here in Canada Zoom usually runs about $700/treatment. In regards to payments, that would be up to the dental office. Some offices have financial services available (work like a credit card but used for dental treatment only.)

I wouldn't want to do a credit card... ICK! $700 seems steep, I thought someone was saying it was $500...
