View Full Version : Obscure Puppets/Muppets Kids Movie from the 80's?

If it weren't for my mom and brother remembering this series of movies (or TV show? I dunno) I'd think maybe I imagined it. I can't find anything on wikipedia lists or anything for this:

It was puppets or muppets, and they were kids, brother and sister. Somehow they would get transported into another place and they'd go along collecting color shapes. (thought they were colorforms, but those are those plastic thingys lol) The two plots I remember are a lion that had to be rescued from a cage, and a man (professor type character) stuck in quicksand. These kids would pull the shapes they'd collected out of their bag and it would form more complex items in the air (kind of like an early blues clues), I remember an ice cream cone and a crane.

I remember this so vividly but I can't find the name of these movies ANYWHERE!

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks for your help but no, I remember Fraggle Rock. They were supposed to be actual children, they were just puppets/muppets.

I've now combed both sites (thank you very much, found some titles to some great forgotten movies and shows!) and nothing on this movie or TV show. I thought maybe it was a movie series, like the baby einstein movies are now, but maybe I was wrong. Maybe I DID dream it. :(

Maybe you are mixing a little of more than one series which were similar.
Could that be possible?

Well sure it's possible, but I really don't think I am. I specifically remember two scenes:

one was there was a guy in quicksand, and when they pulled out all their colored shapes, they made a crane, that pulled the guy out of the quicksand.

the other one had a mouse and a lion. They saved the lion with the mouse's help, but I don't remember what shapes they used to do so.

they might not have been puppets, but I seem to remember that they were.

Do you remember the game Zelda? How anytime the character would leave that screen to go to the next, everything in your view shifted to that scene, well this was like that. If they walked through the scene to go to the next, the whole scene changed, and they'd stay on that set until the next one (ok that probably didn't make any sense)

They were constantly helping other people by collecting shapes randomly throughout the movie/show, and then using them when they needed to. It sounds like Blues Clues I know, but these were actual shapes floating in the air, not drawings.

Ugh, this is so frustrating! LOL

I figured it out! It is volume one from the Colorforms series! Here's a link to a commercial for it --

I found it! It is the first volume in a series produced by Colorforms. They were videos meant to accompany the colorforms themselves.
