Help I have a wall heater and the thermostat will turn it on but won't turn it off at the set temp it will run all day. Any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix it do I need new thermostats or what ?

Sounds like the thermostat is inoperable. You can test by removing one wire off the thermostat and see if it shuts down. Also make sure you set the thermostat to is lowest temp to see if it shuts off also.

It may be the wrong thermostat for a wall heater, wall heaters don't use a 24 volt thermostat like central heating furnaces, they have a pilot generator that produces a very small electrical currant called millivolts, if you do not have a millivolt thermostat this may be the problem. A 24 volt thermostat uses a heat anticipator to cause the thermostat to cycle slower or faster, this is why this type of thermostat will not work properly with a millivolt system. Good luck, Mike

I'm not an expert, but I've got radiant heat (240 volt electric heat), and I just got new thermostats. Great change. The only programmable line level thermostat I could find was the Honeywell line volt pro 8000. From the reading that I did, the old line level thermostats were / are very unreliable.
