Hello,

I was wondering how to install a downdraft stove when there hasn't ever been one in the kitchen. If possible I would like to do the installation myself.

Thanks! Donna

Downdraft means that the unit vents hot air, cooking odors "down" rather than up as with a traditional range / cooktop that vents upward into a range hood. Thefore you must have the capabilty to install a vent that will connect beneath or under the downdraft unit. I would suggest you visit an appliance sales store and 1) ask the salesperson if they have some basic idea of how the installation would go with you particular situation and 2) look at the installation instructions inside a display unit. I am sure you can also use a search engine such as Google as enter the search field such terms as DOWNDRAFT INSTALLATION etc.
