My computer has just stopped reading cds and the tray opens erratically by itself don't know what's wrong n e ideas

Firstly, do you have anti-virus installed? This might be caused by a virus or didn't you do any un-installations lately?

No I don't have and e anti virus programs installed and I have uninstalled some stuff I didn't need on there like old games?

Since you don't have anti-virus installed, it might be that you got a virus on your computer, To troubleshoot download AVG (free.grisoft.com/doc/28415/lng/us/tpl/v5), install and run a full scan...

Look its some setting for the disc drive. It happened to my old computer. Unluckily, it can't be fixed. You can go to my computer and click on c: , d: or e:
