My wife is about 7 weeks pregnant and she is getting sharp pains in here stomach. We are unsure what the cause of this could be.

At 7 weeks, and really throughout the pregnancy, it is normal to have some cramping or stomach pain. This is due her uterus expanding to hold the baby. These pains should come and go. If they are constant and seem to never go away, she needs to call her doctor.
