My divorce is in process;we own a home no mortgage, two children ages 17 and 15 years. Thus far we agreed that I will have physical custody of the children, stay in the house with the children until the younger child is 18 years old & child until each child is 21 years old . If the younger child is in college full time at 18, do we have to dispose of the house. My attorney said yes, I want a second opinion before I sign any papers. I live in New York.

I think as long as your husband and you can agree and work together on terms there should be no problem other than a lawyer that wants to make it sound like you need to rely on him to do things his way.
