Hello all! Well now that Brandy is finally potty trained (phew, now that was work!), it's time for a good deep carpet cleaning. The shampoo that came with my Kirby works good enough, however, doesn't do much for the urine smell. Anyone with some suggestions for urine odor? I'd hate to trial and error it and beat the heck out of my carpet. I wasn't sure if I should post this question elsewhere, but I figured that folks here would have experience with pee on the carpet. Thanks in advance for any input! Oh, I attached a picture of my brood (husband & pups) just for kicks. Got to love that rottie smile!

The Kirby should do the job. Do they sell a pet odor enzyme product? I know they are available where they sell supplies to go with the rental units at the supermarket or hardware. I have had good luck with them.

Ya know, I should look into that. I was a little wary of putting anything in my Kirby other than what it came with, only because my Kirby is precious to me :D That is one fine piece of machinery! The darn thing spraypaints for goodness sakes! Anyway, I'll see if Kirby makes something specifically for pet odor. And I'm not sure why I didn't think to check the hardware store. I guess I'm just so used to going to Walmart! I'm sure a product that goes in other carpet shampooers will be okay for the Kirby.

Katie, there are products sold at Walmarts or pet stores that take care of that odor. Nature's Miracle, Urine Gone, there is another one that I have used that I can't think of the name at the moment. But they all work quite well. You don't put it in your Kirby, you just spray the affected areas. If you need to clean the entire carpet, I think labman's suggestion of finding out if Kirby makes a product especially for urine problems, is a good one.
Love the pic by the way. I like the "rottie" in the middle. He seems to be a very calm & good boy. LOL. Actually, I really like the matching bookends effect! Very sweet looking pups.

Hey thanks guys. I think I'll do both... spray the effected areas with something, then give the whole house a good shampoo. I'll hit the store tonight and get to work. I've actually got a day off work tomorrow (1st Saturday ever!! ) to pick up hubby from airport so I'll let you know how it went come Monday! Thanks again:D
