Hi, my brother has been served by Credit Card Company, the amount is not a small amout either, it's actually over 16k... what is the next step? Thanks:)!!

See an attorney so that he/she can file an Intent to Defend, along with an Answer to Complaint.
If you plan on defending yourself (ProSe), which I don't recommend, you will have to file the above mentioned paperwork yourself.
Most of this paperwork MUST be filed within 30 days of being served to you.
