I have a shower kit that hooks up from the tub spout. It leaks from the back of the faucet when you pull the button out to change the water flow from the tub to the shower. This is in an upstairs bathroom and the water flows into the basement!

Is this a new leak or did it leak from day one?

Are you saying the faucet leaks from the back inside the wall or from the back of the spout? Regards, Tom

It just started to leak about a month ago. I think if I replace the spout that has the coil shower attacment to it, it should fix the problem. What do you think?

You're making me guess here but it sounds like the replacement spout was a slip on that you had to tighten a set screw to secure it in place. If that's the case then you have rolled the "O" ring back. To repair, remove the spout and reposition the "O" ring. Now take some sand paper and smooth off the burr on the end of the copper stub out. Now wet the stub out for lubrication and reinstall the spout. Work better now? Good luck, Tom
